geoSpark is based around an idea so simple that it reminded us a little bit of our days in Kindergarten. While "round blocks in round holes, square blocks in square holes" might oversimplify things a tad, the game is all about keeping like shapes together and different shapes apart.... in space ...with your finger. As the game begins you'll find a number of neon shapes are floating around a spacey-background, accompanied by some catchy piano-based electronica soundtrack. If the game were to be glanced at by a passer-b, they might think you were fiddling with a music visualizer - the kind you might find in iTunes or another popular media player. But we assure you, geoSpark is no music visualizer.

Tired of the usual tower defense games? While GemCraft isn't a revolutionary effort, it adds some new wrinkles into the usual "build, defend, build" cycle in the genre re-popularized by Desktop Tower Defense.

Fruit Juice Tycoon strives to reach a perfect blend of genres, combining elements of puzzle and tycoon games into a frantic new style of gameplay. But does this combination of different elements go down smooth? Or is it just a muddled sour conconction that no one would want to consume? Like a real fruit juice stand, there are some things on the menu that you'll love, and some that'll leave you scratching your head.

Let's admit one thing about mobile games. Sometimes we find ourselves playing them when we should be doing something else. Like in the middle of a meeting - when you're supposed to look like you're checking email or doing something productive - but you're really just trying to sneak in a few extra minutes playing your favorite game on your phone. Well, let me warn you right now - Flick Fishing is NOT a game you can play without everyone knowing what you're doing.

The thought of running into a starving grizzly bear in the deep forest right before the icy chill of winter sets is pretty nerve-wracking. Some might suggest it's best to stay put and play dead when in such a scary situation; others say it's better to extend your arms and act intimidating. But what on earth are you meant to do when the bear comes charging out of the bushes driving a beat-up jalopy?

Enigmo is a beautiful looking game. The “Rube Goldberg” style graphics are fun and inventive and remind me of the inner workings of an elaborate set of pipes in an inventor’s laboratory. The physics of how things work are interesting, surprising, and sometimes mesmerizing. With all of the effort put into the art and graphics, I only wish the developer, Pangeasoft, had done more testing of the actual gameplay, which I found often very difficult and frustrating.

Let's be honest about something: tower defense games on the iPhone are a dime a dozen these days. The big problem is that, by now, there are a ton of really good entries in the genre, which means that it's increasingly difficult to create a tower defense game that actually stands out from the pack. Thankfully, Chillingo's Defender Chronicles: Legend of the Desert King manages to not only stand out, but also maintain a sense of challenge while staying fun.

Being an elf without a fairy is an embarrassing situation. How can you earn the respect of your peers? How can you prove that you're just as much an elf as the next guy? By going on a quest for the king, that's how! Defend Your Honor is a quirky new tower defense game that sets you on a quest to find the Golden Walrus, but not before it makes a few neat tweaks to the genre.

Bunni: How We First Met is an incredibly simple resource management game that never really gets too busy or complicated. The mechanics in the game are easy to pick up, and the world size and variety of items offer just the right amount of variety to keep you bouncing from one area to another to check on your workers and further expand your dominion. It may seem simple by genre standards, but simple is something that's certainly welcome in a world of traditionally all-consuming resource sims.

For countless eons, mankind was trapped by the superiority of nature. Chasms, canyons, rivers -- we simply had no way to cross. Then, one day, our ancestors invented that all-important construct to help us cross the obstacles of the natural world with ease: the bridge. Thanks to BridgeCraft, you too can get your hands dirty building bridges like a real steel worker.

You have to wonder just what is going on in some game developers' heads sometimes. Maybe there's something in the water, because it's fair to say, the concept behind Big Pixel Racing isn't exactly what anyone would describe as 'the norm'. While some racers focus on signing up the best cars and simulating the toughest tracks, Big Pixel Racing turns its attention on dogs. Dogs, with square heads.
