Empire building in the vast, cold reaches of outer space has been a popular topic in gaming for many decades: both for video games and traditional board games. Many would have thought it had been mined for all it had. So it came as a shock in 2010 when a little-known Scandinavian publisher released the board game Eclipse to a solar storm of critical adulation. |

English author Jane Austen died in the 19th century, but she’s maintained a pretty interesting career despite her passing. Apparently she co-authored Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies in 2009, and she’s still had time to show up in hidden object games (HOGs) like Jane Austen Unbound for Facebook. |

Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting my time writing a review when I should really just be pointing at a game and demanding that people play it. This is one of those times. Steve Jackson's Sorcery! is an absolutely marvelous fantasy storybook adventure. Lushly illustrated and expertly told, it should not be missed by anyone even remotely interested in the genre. |

Bigger isn't always better, especially when it comes to mobile games. Sometimes all you need is a fun way to kill a little time, and Winning Blimp is hoping everyone will be doing that by playing Mosaique. This futuristic and classily named puzzler is coming soon to iOS and Android, and while it's not easy to explain, it still looks awfully intriguing. |

If science fiction has taught us anything, it’s that humans are frail little monkeys that probably don’t belong in space. Yet despite our primitive minds and color-coded tunics, we often set a course for exploration and adventure among the stars. But as the crew in Star Command learns all too well, those stars might not be as welcoming as we’d hope. |

Iron Man is basically everywhere right now. Iron Man 3 is hitting theaters on May 3, an officially licensed game of the same name just hit the App Store (we thought it was okay), and now the character has wiggled his way into Marvel: Avengers Alliance. Superheroes sure do have a lot of energy. |

Do you think the days go by more slowly when you’re floating out in space? I can’t say I know the answer to that one for sure, but luckily for all of us still here on the ground it’s Wednesday night once again, and that means another round of Gamezebo’s New iOS Games Tonight feature! |

There was a specific, memorable moment when I realized just how brilliant Monaco is. Myself and three friends had just successfully stolen a bundle of unmarked bills from the Casino de Monte Carlo, and were making our way to the exit when a guard popped out of a nearby corridor, forcing me to dart through the closest doorway. |

We cover plenty of new games here at Gamezebo every week, but the number of games we’ve already covered that show up on new platforms? It’s staggering. This Wednesday and every Wednesday, Gamezebo is rounding up the games that aren’t quite new, but might be new to you depending on your platform of choice. And who doesn't love new(ish) games? |

A few keywords to get you interested right from the start: 16-bit, metroidvania, pixel art, Gradius, open-world RPG. Still salivating? That's exactly why games like as A.N.N.E exist. The Kickstarter project by Gamesbymo looks to combine some very well-loved game genres into a stunning platformer/RPG/shmup experience. A.N.N.E is a love letter from gaming's history, and it doesn't attempt to shrug off even a bit of nostalgia as it makes its way to modern players. |

Game Dev Tycoon is a fun new simulation game about managing your very own video game development company, and the first release by a studio called Greenheart Games. But like any game on the market these days, the $8 title was at risk of internet piracy the moment it was released. So in order to combat the expected piracy head on, the developers intentionally created a cracked version of the real game, and uploaded it to torrent sites themselves the same day of Game Dev Tycoon’s release. What better way to combat piracy than by giving an interactive lesson on how stealing games can harm a developer? |
